When a cat died, families would be very sad and they shaved their eyebrows.
Just like humans, cats were mummified. They were buried with things like milk and dead mice. Over thousands of cat mummies were found along the Nile River. Many of those cat mummies you can see in museums today.
The process of cat mummification had 6 steps:
- Remove internal organs.
- Stuff body with sand or other packing material.
- Placed in sitting position.
- Wrapped tightly.
- Faces painted on wrappings with black ink.
- Natural dehydration, did not use chemicals.
